Police score huge crop of marijuana
The plants were discovered in the Pine Valley area a few days ago by a group of hikers, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Police watched the area for a few days and raided it Tuesday morning.
"This was a great success for law enforcement," Chief Deputy Rob Tersigni said in a statement. "It is so important that we remove these types of plants before they can be processed and sold into society."
The plants were removed from the area by helicopter and will be destroyed.
Police do not have any suspects, but the case is still under investigation.
Anyone with information can contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 435-656-6500.
