President George W. Bush hosted a White House luncheon today that brought together President-elect Barack Obama and three former Oval Office occupants.

In a new year that's sure to challenge the elected officials who keep Utah's county governments afloat, Monday ceremonies in Utah's three most populous counties marked the start, and in some cases the re-start, of those officials' terms of public service.

Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker unveiled a 30-point plan and a new interactive Web site Tuesday aimed at making the inner workings of the city government machine more "open, inclusive, responsive and accountable for its actions."
