What you call "flood pants" we called "high-waters." There was some certain pant length that prevented endless teasing by your male friends. No, I don't think I'll wear pedal-pushers for men!

My Father always dressed the same, no matter the whim of the fashion nerds. He always looked like a man, and acted like a man. There was no doubt that he knew who he was, and that was, a man.
I am proud to say, that my brother and I, do the same. Real men know who thy are, and what is expected of them.

Dude you made me laugh.

I've been wearing my khakis rolled up for a couple of years now. I own more khakis then a man should legally be able to possess.
I get almost all of them second hand. And I'm talking serious men's clothing, J. Crew, Lands End, J. Peterman, L.L.Bean,. Name a high end garment and I probably have a pair. I roll them up because almost all of my khakis are a little to long. Bad habit .( casual dress only).

Getting them hemmed has been on my to do list for a long time. But the cost of hemming a pair of pants has gone up since the 1980s. Used to be 2$, now its 8$ on average. At least in California anyway.

If I let them down, they'll drag and fray on the bottoms and look tacky, like I can't afford a decent pair.

That may be part of the cause of this weird trend.

I must say though, if your not wearing flip-flops or speerys with rolled up khakis that's just weird.

Lets just hope, as GQ says, that its " A momentary laps in judgment".
