Never liked the mountains. As someone who lives out-of-state, and watches most
of the games on TV, you can't tell what the mountains were except for
close-up shots. They looked like spider webs or something.I like
them. Go Utes!
These are bad. Not 70's Houston Astro bad. Not 70's San Diego combo
burrito bad. But noisy and busy. Lets say, 70's Hamilton Tiger Cat bad. Of
course, making an extra buck is all that really matters and I guess someone will
buy these things.
navel vet"The Univ. of Utah stopped doing that 2-yrs ago.
We've changed our school color from 'Crimson' to 'University
Red'"Yet your booster organization is still called the
"Crimson Club".and your fight song still contains the
phrase: "we'll fight for dear old "Crimson", for a Utah Man am
I"Quite obviously there's a disconnect on the hill about
what the word "crimson" actually means.
Bluto:"And please, get somebody at the U to finally understand
the color 'Crimson' which to this day they have never worn. Or stop
stating your colors are crimson and white."The Univ. of Utah
stopped doing that 2-yrs ago. We've changed our school color from
"Crimson" to "University Red" (RGB 204-0-0 / HEX CC-00-00).
"The Washington Redskins have called, they want their logo returned."Pluto:What a coincidence! Yale and Washington State also
called, respectively looking for their logo and mascot.
The only comment I can make on these duds is it's a mighty good thing that
it's the player that makes the plays and not the uni. Sorry, folks, I may
not always like the uniforms my team wears, but these are not good.
Football...just around the corner. Go Cougs, Utes and Aggies. And 'Hawks.
Glad to see the "Utah Stripe" being incorporated. However, the only
combo it matches is the white jersey, with the "Utah Stripe" down the
middle of the white helmet. To the equipment team - PLEASE add the matching
"Utah Stripe" to the red and black helmets as well! It would tie the
look together so much better.I would also suggest
trimming/eliminating the weird blocks of color on the back on the pant legs. It
would be nice to see more incorporation of the interlocking U's, as well as
The Drum and Feather. The Drum and Feather is what best represents the Ute
Tribe, and the U of U, so we should not shy away from it, ever. We received the
Ute Tribe's blessing. The UTAH on the front of the jerseys is
alright, but would love to see that changed to our nickname, UTES. Again, we
don't have to pretend to be something we're not. Utah Utes is what
we're known as, so it shouldn't be a problem to use the nickname on
the front of the jerseys.Regardless of the strange uniforms Under
Armour may roll out, the product on the field is what we really care about. Play
aggressively and keep winning, and the fans will gradually overlook any quirky
uniform changes we see. GO UTES!
OKThe white helmets remain! Good....However, The Washington Redskins
have called, they want their logo returned. The black unis are OK,
however, the U runs...too large...more distinction needed, w/larger white
outline.Well, at least the U's logo isn't a tree and their
nickname a color (Stanford). The ultimate display of political correctness.
However, word has it that the National Association of Arborists and
the Union of Pantoneology are about to revolt.
Mid-Major Pac-12 program still seeking an identity.Find a Tradition
and stick with it.-Redskins, Runnin' Utes, Utes, Red-Tailed
Hawks, Red Rocks....Which is it?-Give back the drum and feather to
the Washington Redskins, who created it.-Go back to the double
intersecting U's on the helmets...(early 70's).-The
Mountains and White Helmets were a home run, and now they're gone? And please, get somebody at the U to finally understand the color
"Crimson" which to this day they have never worn. Or stop stating
your colors are crimson and white.Pink seats in Eccles University
Stadium and an amalgamation of Nebraska Red and UTEP Orange does not a tradition
It is hard to imagine anything less important
The pants are "bib design" hideous.
I'll buy the red jersey when it's available. A hat incorporating the
stripe would be awesome too. Go Utes!
At least it's not the urban sombrero!
Naval Vet - Philadelphia, PAMay 16, 2017 11:33 a.m.This is a
major improvement over the "Mountain" sleeves uniform, but I would have
preferred seeing the sleeves the same color as the jersey. -------Correct. This is essentially the exact same template minus the
mountains and the addition of way too much stripe on the sides. For
some reason, Utah football can never get the pants right.Put stripes
on the shoulder, fine. But dont make them stand out just as bad as the mountains
@Jeff29:"My advice to the U: As you are looking to fit in with
the other P12 school, follow USC, not Oregon..."Imagine that, a
byu fan giving advise about the PAC 12. That there is funny!Like
them or hate them, by the time the season starts and football is actually
played, nobody will care what they look like - except the Utah haters. In a
couple of years, Utah will have new designs for people to love or hate, and the
cycle will continue. I will say, though, that any uniform that has
"Fakailoatonga" on the back looks AWESOME! Go Utes!Play the game and don't sweat the minutia.
@Jeff29I consider it an extreme compliment that we almost always
disagree. My advice to BYU-Provo: Go back to the bib uniforms. Those
things were awesome!
Hey, finally something on which I can agree with Naval Vet and Robin. My advice to the U: As you are looking to fit in with the other P12 school,
follow USC, not Oregon...
Utah Stripe - perfect.
As long as they are in easily identifiable school colors and not in some
headache-inducing neon, I'm good with any uniform style.
Personally, I liked the Mountains. I also like the all white version.Go Utes!
Meh. A little busy, but they may grow on me. As Coach K said, it's not an
Wow! Those are vomit inducing.
The uniforms are better without the mountains. But, there is something about
the striping on the pants that reminds me of the 'bib' uniform mistake
BYU made 15 years ago.
John Mcenroe must be the designer
I like them. Unique but not excessively so like some teams have chosen. Like
They're bad. Not as bad as they could be, but bad.
This is a major improvement over the "Mountain" sleeves uniform, but I
would have preferred seeing the sleeves the same color as the jersey. And even
more than that, I would have preferred that Utah went to the jersey we've
been playing that had (1) no "mountains", and (2) the interlocking U.
